I am trying to help a friend find work after a recent felony conviction. I’ve searched the board and found some great recommendations for companies who have hired those with a record in the past. A lot of those recommendations where for organizations that would help find work and/or chain restaurants (which are both great, thanks!). I am wondering if there are any small business/restaurant owners here who are currently hiring and would consider talking to this person. (bachelor’s degree, extensive experience in business ops and restaurant management).
It would be important to disclose the felony and how recent it was. Most people say restaurants because majority of them do not run background checks and therefore it usually is a “don’t ask/don’t tell situation”. But by asking someone to hire them, we’d know to know what it was for. Theft, drugs. Something worse..etc
