UNC Health is hiring health care professionals to join our new Youth Behavioral Health hospital located in Butner, NC.

This facility is a 54-bed, 24-hour, locked psychiatric facility designed to offer hope and healing to children and adolescents facing mental health diagnoses, dual diagnoses, substance misuse, and complex behaviors.

Behavioral Health Tech – Complex Adolescents & Addiction Units at Youth Behavioral Health (Per Diem)
Behavioral Health Tech – Inpatient Behavioral Health Adolescent Unit (Full-time)
Music Therapist (Full-time & Per Diem)
Occupational Therapist I (Per Diem)
Police Officer (Full-time)
Recreational Therapist (Full-time & Per Diem)
RN Clinical Nurse II – General Adolescent and Intellectual Developmental and Disabilities Unit (Full-time & Per Diem)
RN Clinical Nurse II – Intake Nurse Youth Behavioral Health Facility (Full-time)

How to Qualify:

Activities Therapist

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field is required
No licensure or certification required
No experience is required

Art Therapist

Graduation from AATA (American Art Therapy Association) approved program or related field
Current board certification in Art Therapy (ATR-BC)
Experience in the field of creative art therapy is preferred

Behavioral Health Tech

High School diploma or GED
Licensed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 60 days from date of hire
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
Two (2) years of experience in a behavioral health environment

Music Therapist

Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy or related field which includes an internship
Certified Music Therapist by the Board of Music Therapists
One (1) year of experience in the field of Music Therapy
Six (6) months experience in leading group exercise activities

Occupational Therapist

Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of North Carolina
No prior experience required

Police Officer

High School diploma or GED
Successful completion of Basic Law Enforcement Training or the equivalent
OC Spray (Pepper Spray) certification, TASER certification, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification and CIT certification within the first nine (9) months of hire (the Probationary Period). Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification. Must qualify with a passing score with issued duty weapon on the department’s qualification course of fire within the first six (6) months of hire (the Probationary Period)
Must be at least 20 years old and be a US Citizen
Valid North Carolina Driver’s license
No prior experience required

Recreational Therapist

Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreational Therapy, which includes an internship
Licensed as a Recreational Therapist by the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure (NCBRTL)
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)
No prior experience required

RN Clinical Nurse II

Graduation from a school of professional nursing
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
One (1) year of nursing experience
