Step 3: If you are attending in person, you can obtain a parking permit in advance by emailing emppark@unchealth.unc.edu before 9.23.25 or you can obtain one the day of the event at the front desk.

How do I qualify for this event?

Administrative Associate: High School diploma or GED. One (1) year of clerical or administrative experience. If Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree, no years of experience is required.

Cardiovascular Sonographer: Associate’s degree in Sonography, Radiology or a related field within 3 months of hire, OR Completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire. Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire. Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually.

Clinical Diabetes Educator: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist or licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). If Bachelor’s degree, 3 years’ experience as an Registered Dietitian. If Master’s degree, 1 year experience as an Registered Dietitian.

EEG Technologist: Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology. If completion of an acceptable program in neurophysiology: No prior experience required. If a High School diploma or GED: Two (2) years of relevant experience. Registry eligible for one of the following specialty areas:
•EEG (Electroencecephalogram- R. EEG T., CLTM)
•EP (Evoked Potentials-R. EP T.)
•Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM)
•Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV
•Polysomnography (RPSGT)
•Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)

Intraoperative Monitoring Technologist: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or graduation from an accredited Neurophysiology program. Registered in Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM or equivalent). Two (2) years of Neurodiagnostic experience.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Requires graduation from a state accredited program of practical nurse education. Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of North Carolina. Requires BLS.

Medical Assistant, Certified: Requires high school diploma or GED. Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred but not required. Requires Medical Assistant certification by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA). Basic Life Support Certification from American Heart Association required. Prior medical assistant or medical assistant externship experience preferred.

Registered Nurse: Graduation from a school of professional nursing. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. One (1) year of nursing experience.

Sleep Technologist: Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology. If completion of an acceptable program of Neurophysiology: No prior experience required. If a High School diploma or GED: Two (2) years of experience performing a variety of Sleep or Neurodiagnostics procedures. Registered in one of the following specialty areas:
•EEG (Electroencecephalogram- R. EEG T., CLTM)
•EP (Evoked Potentials-R. EP T.)
•Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM)
•Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV
•Polysomnography (RPSGT)
•Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
