Join us for the UNC Health Rex Hiring Event! We’re hiring for multiple positions including:

  • New Graduate and Experienced Registered Nurses
  • Clinical Support Techs I, Nursing Assistants I
  • New Graduate and Experienced Surgical Techs (Labor & Delivery Only)

Directions from Parking Ramp to Innovation and Learning Center (H&V Auditoriums): 

From the 4th level of the Heart and Vascular Parking Deck, take elevators to the 1st Floor. Proceed up the sidewalk and enter the first set of glass doors on the left (before main entrance). Take an immediate left around the corner. Take the elevator across from the Gift Shop to the 1st Floor. Proceed straight out the elevator down the ramp to the “Innovation and Learning Center”, which is the H&V Auditoriums.

How to Qualify: 

Clinical Support Tech I

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Listed as Nurse Aide I Registry with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Requires six (6) months of clerical or customer service experience.

Nursing Assistant I

  • Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Prefer six (6) months of nursing assistant experience.

RN New Graduate Nurse 

  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
  • If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina by the day of clinical care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.

RN Clinical Nurse II

  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
  • If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • One (1) year of nursing experience.

Surgical Tech I

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing program; or graduate of a Military Training Program in Surgical Technology; or formal education/training may be substituted for individuals with 3+ years of prior experience as a surg tech.

Surgical Tech II

  • High School Diploma or GED or graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing program or graduate of a Military Training Program in Surgical Technology; or formal education/training may be substituted for individuals with 5+ years of experience as a surgical tech.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years OR experience required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) through The National Center of Competency Testing preferred.
